Sheng Nanxing breaks up with her boyfriend after he cheats. She then reunites with Ji Beiwang, her 'uncle' whom she had previously confessed to and been rejected by. Through work, their feelings for each other grow. During this time, Ji Beiwang enters a commercial marriage with Lin Zhiyan, leading Sheng Nanxing to decide to give up on their relationship. Ji Beiwang later realizes his mistake and begins to pursue her. The story explores the conflicts and turns in urban relationships through workplace disputes and emotional struggles.
