He saves his friend Wang Shuai from a beating and learns that con man Liu Jian is pretending to be a rich businessman to marry Sun Xiaoxiao. Feng Yang exposes Liu Jian's scheme to protect Sun Xiaoxiao. He partners with Zhang Xiyan and Wang Shuai in the pager business, but Liu Jian sabotages them. Using his future knowledge, Feng Yang fixes a rare audio system for the richest man in Yongnan City, then bets on the World Cup final in Macau to earn his first fortune and eventually becomes the city's wealthiest man. Zhang Caiying and her lover Ning Laicai steal all of Feng Yang's properties through fraud. Feng Yang sets a trap to expose them and punish Ning Laicai. Using DNA testing, Feng Yang discovers Zhang Caiying and Sun Xiaoxiao aren't related - Sun Xiaoxiao was kidnapped by Zhang Caiying and Peng Guochang. Meanwhile, Sun Xiaoxiao's real father dies abroad, leaving her a huge inheritance and family mansion. Zhang Caiying tries to kill Sun Xiaoxiao for the money, but Feng Yang stops her and brings Zhang Caiying and Peng Guochang to justice. After clearing up all misunderstandings, Feng Yang and Sun Xiaoxiao finally get together.
